Emma Byers - Traditional Acupuncturist

Emma is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and graduated from the College of Traditional Acupuncture with a degree in Traditional Acupuncture. The BAcC is the largest body of professional acupuncturists in the UK and guarantees excellence in training standards, safe practice and ethical behaviour.
Emma is joint owner of the Ren Clinic in Durham and also works at Sweet Thyme Therapy Centre, North Shields. She is also commissioned by the County Durham Primary Care Trust to provide a pain relief clinic for NHS patients at Bishopgate Medical Centre, Bishop Auckland.
Emma treats all types of conditions but has a particular interest in treating fertility issues. She has trained with leading specialists in this field including Gerad Kite, Charlie Buck and Zita West.
She also specialises in treating mental and emotional health problems, such as stress, anxiety and depression.
Traditional Five Element Acupuncture
Emma practices a style of acupuncture known as Five Element Acupuncture or Traditional Acupuncture, which originated in China over 2000 years ago.
Traditional Acupuncture helps people to overcome physical and emotional problems.
By addressing the underlying weakness, it eliminates symptoms rather than masking them, bringing about transformation, long-lasting relief and a profound feeling of health and vitality.
Traditional Acupuncture is unique in being able to directly treat all 3 levels of a person – the body, mind and spirit – making it truly transformational. It is a fabulous treatment for all types of issues, whether physical, mental, emotional or even spiritual, for those who have lost their sense of self or purpose. It is also a preventative system of medicine, and many patients choose to come for treatment periodically for health maintenance.
Working hours
Emma works at the Ren Clinic on Tuesdays 11 am - 7.30pm and Fridays 11 am - 6.30pm.
