Effective help for personal concerns

Counselling & Psychotherapy

A humanistic and person-centred approach

Humanistic counselling and psychotherapy focuses on our inherent potential as human beings to become all that we can be. Practitioners view the person as a whole, believing that everyone is unique and, given the right conditions, has the potential to grow and move forward.

Person-centred therapy provides these conditions by offering clients a relationship filled with empathy, unconditional acceptance and a sense of the counsellor as another human being rather than an “expert”. Research has shown that this helps people to freely explore their experience, empowering them to find their own answers.

Humanistic counselling and psychotherapy can help people:

  • Clarify thoughts and feelings about difficult issues
  • Resolve feelings of depression or anxiety
  • Work out how to cope with a particular problem or situation
  • Make important choices
  • Develop self-understanding and self-acceptance
  • Work through old hurts and conflicts
  • Discover new perspectives or possibilities

What can counselling and psychotherapy help with?

Examples of issues frequently covered are:
  • Low self esteem
